Metro Strike
Metro Ontario workers recently went on strike in the Greater Toronto Area. Some 3,700 members of Unifor Local 414 walked off the job at 27 branches in the region. They were demanding fair wages, improved working conditions and stable working hours.
Thanks to your donations, North Star will be able to move up a gear and hire a full-time journalist to produce more articles putting forward the people’s perspective!
With all the enthusiasm generated by this crowdfunding campaign, we couldn’t stop there! We’ve set ourselves a second goal: to develop a mobile app for North Star. This will enable us to connect more directly with our readership, and will become our main tool for staying present in people’s lives despite the Meta media ban.
