Prior to entering politics, Gill was a real estate agent. He also operates a real estate appraisal company. Before becoming a realtor, he worked in quality control in the aerospace and industrial machinery industries. He has been an adjudicator for Tribunals Ontario.
Gill holds significant investment assets. He holds a controlling interest in the Ontario Appraisal Corporation and Hometown Appraisal Corporation, real estate appraisal companies in Brampton, Ontario. He and his spouse jointly own several rental properties in the Ontario cities of Lasalle, Windsor, and Brampton.
