Before entering politics, Nguyen held senior positions at a number of nonprofits and charities focused on diversity and equity consulting. The following is a non-exhaustive list.
From 2023 to 2025, Nguyen was the executive director of Equal Voice, a nonprofit that promotes gender equality in electoral politics. From 2020 to 2025, she was a self-employed consultant. From 2018 to 2020, she was a director of the charity Social Innovation Canada. From 2016 to 2018, she was managing director and then CEO of Parker P Consulting. From 2011 to 2012, was a diversity and inclusion project coordinator at the CBC.
