Before entering federal politics, Albas served as a city councillor in Penticton, B.C. for three years. From the late 1990s until his election to federal office, he owned and operated the martial arts studio Kick City Martial Arts.
From at least 2016 to 2023, Albas and his spouse co-owned a rental property from which they derived income. In 2016, Albas and his wife, Tara, were gifted a nine-day trip to Israel valued at over $12,000. The trip was paid for by the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, a Zionist lobby group.
