Details:

Before entering federal politics, O’Rourke was a city councillor in Guelph from 2018 to 2025. She also held a number of senior positions in public relations in the private sector.
From 2006 to 2025, O’Rourke owned and operated the public relations firm Accolade Communications. From 2016 to 2021, she taught public relations at Conestoga College in Kitchener.
