Before entering politics, Olszewski was a civil litigator in Edmonton. From 2009 to 2017, she was a partner at McPherson Leslie & Tyerman and from 1991 to 2009 she was a partner at Brownlee. She has also been an adjunct professor at the University of Alberta.
