Before entering politics, Champagne was a director at the British multinational consulting company Amec Foster Wheeler for five years. From 1999 to 2007, he was a vice president and senior counsel at ABB, a European multinational electrical engineering firm.
Champagne owns two rental properties in London, England. He is the beneficiary of multiple trust funds.
Champagne’s brother Guillaume owns Cjet Aviation, a company that provides parking, maintenance, and detailing services for private aircraft. Their father, Gilles Champagne, is a successful businessman and founder of Bionest Technologies, a multimillion-dollar company which designs and manufactures wastewater treatment systems.
Champagne’s wife, Anne-Marie Gaudet, holds a vice president role at Alto, the Crown corporation responsible for the high-speed rail network that will connect Quebec City to Toronto.
