Before being elected to parliament, Godin was an advisor to Conservative MP Sam Hamad from 2012 to 2014. From 2008 to 2012, he was the president of AJC Communications, a marketing and consultancy firm. From 1997 to 2008, he was the director of sales for the TV station TQS Québec.
Godin and his wife own rental properties in Saint-Pierre-Île-D’Orléans and Quebec City.
