Champoux owns MC Communication, an advertising and marketing firm. Before entering politics, he was director of business development for Absolu, an advertising agency in Victoriaville, Quebec. Champoux was director of marketing and development for the Village québécois d’antan, a tourist site located in Drummondville, from 2017 to 2019.
Champoux was president of Métal Énergie, a company that manufactures steel products, from 2008 to 2014. From 1987 to 2013, he worked as a radio host at CKMF-FM, Rock Détente, and Rythme FM. From 2004 to 2013, he hosted the cooking show “Qu’est-ce qui mijote” at TVA.
