Before becoming an MP, Provost was a director in Quebec’s environment ministry from 2015 to 2025. From 2013 to 2015, she was an advisor at the Office Québécois de la langue française. She held various director roles in Quebec’s Immigration ministry from 2008 to 2013 and in 2015, as well as for the Public Curator of Quebec from 2002 to 2008.
From 1990 to 2002 she was an advisor at Valorex, a value analysis firm.
Provost was shot four times during the mass shooting at the École Polytechnique de Montréal in 1989.
