With the exception of student jobs as a collections agent for Telus and as a journalist for the conservative magazine Alberta Report, Poilievre has spent his entire career in politics. In 2002, he was a campaign director during Ezra Levant’s bid to replace Preston Manning as leader of the Canadian Alliance.
In 2003, Poilievre co-founded 3D Contact Inc., a political communications and research firm, with future Alberta cabinet minister Jonathan Denis.
Poilievre was previously the MP for Nepean (formerly Nepean—Carleton) from 2004 to 2025 until he was unseated by Liberal MP Bruce Fanjoy.
Poilievre solely owns a rental property in Ottawa, as does his wife, Anaida Polievre. He holds significant investment assets. He has previously owned rental property in Calgary. Anaida is the sole owner of Pretty and Smart Inc., an online magazine business based in Ottawa.
