Before becoming an MP, Majumdar was from 2016 to 2023 the global director of Stephen Harper’s consulting firm, Harper & Associates. During the same period, he was the director of the foreign policy and national security program at the Macdonald–Laurier Institute, a conservative policy think tank.
From 2011 to 2015, Majumdar was a director of policy under Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird. From 2006 to 2010, he was a program director at the International Republican Institute (IRI), a quasi-governmental American nonprofit linked to the Republican Party. The IRI engineers regime change and was instrumental in the 2004 Haitian Coup.
From 2004 to 2006, Majumdar was employed by the Manning Centre, a conservative advocacy group that was the forerunner to the Canada Strong and Free Network. From 1998 to 2001, he was employed by the office of Preston Manning, founder and leader of the right-wing Reform Party of Canada.
