Before becoming an MP, Lauzon was a city councillor in Gatineau, Quebec from 2009 to 2015.
From 1992 to 2012, Lauzon worked as a vocational trainer. He then founded a construction management company. His spouse, Melanie Sabourin, is a co-owner of Les épices Papineau, a company that sells spices in Plaisance, Quebec.
