Before entering politics, Stevenson was a CPA and president of Carstairs Accounting Services from 1999 to 2025. He has held the position of chief financial officer for a number of Conservative Party associations and for the Wildrose Party. From 1994 to 2001, he was the CFO of Horseshoe Holdings Inc.
