The Santé-Québec reform

Presented as a modernization of the public network, the creation of the Santé Québec agency centralizes power by replicating the structure of a corporation. It facilitates subcontracting, weakens unions, and is based on an Alberta model that is generally considered ineffective. Rather than improving the system, this reform is likely to increase bureaucracy and further distance citizens and workers from the decisions that affect them.
